How to A/B test in Google Ads
Don't guess. Test.
You can't know in advance whether a budget or bidding change will work. adall tries the change on part of the traffic first, works out when the result will be reliable and tells you if the difference is real.
01 / Why it matters
"Last week was better" is not evidence
Ad results move from day to day and season to season. Numbers improving after a change don't prove the change worked; maybe it was just a good week. A controlled experiment compares two options over the same period and takes luck out of the sum.

02 / How it works
How it works
Step 1
Pick the change to try
On the campaign's page tap Try it first (A/B test), then choose the change and how much of the traffic it's tried on.
Step 2
adall works out the duration
When you press Plan, adall calculates how many days the test needs.
Step 3
Start
Safety limits apply during the test too; if one blocks it, the reason appears on the card.
Step 4
You decide
When the result is clear at 95 % confidence, the card says so; you decide whether to apply the change everywhere.
03 / What you get
What you get
95 % confidence
A winner is called only when the difference is real at 95 % statistical confidence.
Google's own experiments
The experiment is set up with Google Ads' own experiments feature, through the official API.
Limits still apply
Your spending limit and safety rules apply during the test.
Validated first
In trial mode, Start only validates the change with Google; nothing changes in the account.
04 / Frequently asked questions
Frequently asked questions
How long does an A/B test take?
It depends on your traffic. While planning, adall works out the number of days needed for a reliable result and shows it to you.
Does my spend go up during the test?
Your spending limit applies during the test. The test splits part of your existing traffic to the new option.
What if the result is unclear?
If the difference isn't real at 95 % confidence, adall says so plainly; nothing is applied everywhere by itself.
Which changes can be tested?
The ones listed under Try it first (A/B test) on a campaign's page, such as its budget. adall works out the time and traffic each experiment needs in advance.
No ad know-how needed to try it.
