How to stop Google Ads overspending

You set the limit. Code applies the brake.

Google can spend up to twice your daily budget in one day; even if it evens out over the month, your cash flow feels it. adall's spending brake applies your own daily and monthly limit to actual spend: when spend reaches it, the campaigns are paused.

01 / Why it matters

Why a daily budget isn't a limit

The daily budget in Google Ads is an average. On a busy day Google can go over it and tries to balance it over the month. With several campaigns, following the total by hand gets hard too. adall watches the total of all campaigns and applies the limit by your definition, not Google's.

Example

Limit reached, campaigns paused until tomorrow

02 / How it works

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Enter your limit

In Settings, enter your daily limit and, if you like, a monthly one. The daily limit is the total of all your campaigns.

  2. Step 2

    adall reads the spend

Your spend is read from Google every 15 minutes.

  3. Step 3

    At the limit, it pauses

The campaigns are paused and you get an e-mail.

  4. Step 4

    Next day, back on

Campaigns paused by the daily limit switch back on the next day; after a monthly limit they stay paused until the month ends.

03 / What you get

What you get

  • The AI can't change it

Code enforces the limit. In no mode can adall set budgets above it.

  • You choose the tolerance

Google can go a little over within a day, so a small difference may remain; you decide how much is tolerated.

  • Your own changes respected

If you touched a paused campaign in the meantime, adall doesn't switch it back on by itself the next day.

  • Every pause on record

When and why a campaign was paused is written in the change history.

04 / Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions

How is this different from Google's own budget setting?

Google's daily budget is an average per campaign and can be exceeded within a day. adall's limit applies to the total of all campaigns and actually pauses them when it's reached.

Does the limit hold to the cent?

adall reads spend every 15 minutes and Google can report with a small delay, so a small difference can remain. You choose how much difference is tolerated.

If I stop adall, does the brake stop too?

Stopping adall keeps it from making new changes; it doesn't switch your campaigns off. You can change your limit and settings at any time.

Can I use adall without a limit?

For adall to change anything in your account you need to enter a daily limit. Without one, nothing is written to a real account.
